Rajgad Dnyanpeeth was established in 1972, by Honorable Shri. Anantraoji Thopte with mission of “Prajvalito Dnyanmaya Pradeep” which means Enlighten the lamp of knowledge and wisdom among students. Rajgad dnyanpeeth started with objective of bringing intellectual awakening & transformation in educational, economic, cultural & social fields in the state of Maharashtra. He is renowned politician, worked as a Cabinet Minister in Government of Maharashtra, for almost 13 years. At the time of ministerial status he was handling Education, Dairy technology, Agriculture, Rehabilitation etc.

Rajgad Dnyanpeeth has made astonishing strides in the field of education during a short span of time. The emphasis has all throughout been on all round progress and welfare of weaker section of the society. The leadership has been imaginative, dynamic and socially committed thus making Rajgad Dnyanpeeth stand different from other educational institutions.

Today Rajgad Dnyanpeeth has more than 33 educational institutes providing education to students from all strata from the primary level, to the post Graduate level. It has enlightened the minds of literate people. For this purpose Rajgad Dnyanpeeth have started the primary, secondary, senior Arts, Commerce and Science College, professional courses like D. Pharmacy, Engineering, BCS, MCS, Dairy Diploma, D.Ed., Horticulture, MBA and B.Ed. and today more than 20000 students are taking education from 33 institutes of Rajgad Dnyanpeeth.

Extending its legacy, the institute has started with a new school Anant Nirmal Global School in 2019 at Dhankawadi campus which has been proposed to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
